Her Story: France M. Tasic

On my previous post I talked about the new J&D Cigars adds featured in Lit Magazine for Women. Well the mystery girl reveled here!! :D Her name is France Mallet Tasic. She was raised in Normandy, but live in Versailles, France prior to South Florida nine years ago. She came to Florida to pursue her passion and hone her make-up artistry skills. Her skills have been displayed in both national and international well known commercials, editorials, films, music videos, television, and catalogs. Funny story, on the day of the photo-shoot, France was actually hired as the makeup artist; however, due to family emergencies of one model and incompetence of another that were going to do the shoot, France stepped in to save the day!

But this wasn't her first run in front of the lenses. She's been featured in Porsche adds, European films ( "The Percentage" and "Weightless"), and one of my favorite TV shows "The Finder." Clearly this is not France's first run at the Rodeo, but she's more than just a model, actress, and make-up artist. She is a woman of many pleasures. She told me how she enjoyed painting with various mediums such as watercolors, oils, pens, and pencils. She's now getting into photography as well. She's taken dance classes and loves to dance Salsa and the Rumba. She enjoys Biking, table tennis, skiing, skating, boating, waterskiing, and even a few other extreme sports!

One of my favorite of her responses is that she loves to travel, which I do as well, but her favorite part of the experience is actually planning her trip! Haha! She likes the planning and the research involved in going in one of her great adventures. But most importantly, France loves being surrounded by her family and friends in Paris, Bordeaux, and Normandy, while enjoying a marvelous "Plateau de fruits de Mer"-- otherwise known as a seafood platter in common American-- and a nice fruity cup of Sauvignon blanc. She did mention that she is more of a cigarette smoker, but often takes pleasure in smoking a delicious cigar from time to time.

It's always a pleasure to talk to these amazing people, France was truly a sweetheart. Personally, I loved talking to her because she not only told me what she did, but who she is.  If you'd like to know more about her work you can visit her website.

PS. France has inspired me, What kinda of crazy things do you enjoy in your life? Leave your answer in the comment section below!

Her Story: Josie Rosa

Born in Camuy, Puerto Rico, Josie Rosa came to the beautiful Sunshine State as an aspiring singer/ songwriter. At an astonishingly 6 years of age she wrote her first song and started her professional tract at age 14. Needless to say,she is living her dream, singing in front of huge crowds and expressing her creativity for the population to enjoy. Recently she was starred in a J&D Cigars photo shoot, featuring both  Temptation and Allure Cigars. I was graced with the opportunity to interview her recently.

1. When did you start smoking and why?
  • "I've always been facinated with cigars since my grand father used to make them in Puerto Rico, we used to have a farm there. But, he used to make them only for his personal use.I think I started smoking them a few years ago."
2. You are a singer, do you ever wonder if smoking might become a problem in your career?
  • "Well smoking can be bad for singerers, but only if you smoke too much at a time. I take care of my voice though."
3. What inspired you to become a singer?
  • "I've been writing since I was 6 years old. Music runs in my family, my Mom, Aunt, and others used to sing at churches, special events, and wherever there were instruments and fiesta!"

4. Do you have another job? If so what is it and do you enjoy it?
  • "Well I'm a Massage Therapist and a Skin Specialist too, I wanted to go to college just in case. What I enjoy the most of course is singing!"

6. Is there a traditional dish you enjoy the most from your country of origin?
  • Yes of coarse "Arroz con Gandules and Pasteles", the best!!
7. Is there anything you woould like to tell me about yourself that you would like my readers to know? (i.e. children, favorite cigar, etc.)
"I have one daughter that is the love of my life and my inspiration. My favorite cigar is Temptation! I'm a writer also and I'm in the middle of writing my first book and I'm so exited about it! I love also working out and spending time with my family and friends, plus I love going to the movies, and enjoy music a lot like house/electronica/dance. Love life to the fullest!!!"

If you are interested in listening to her music there are plenty of places that you can check out.

I was really impressed by the spirit that Josie expressed. Very optimistic, kind, and fun. A Fiesta girl! I look forward to talking to her again. I have to give props to Destiny Brown Photography, they really did a great job with the photos.
